HOLLIS- Ralph Foster Holmes Jr., age 70, of Hollis, passed away on Aug. 11, 2017 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Portland on June 14, 1947, a son of the late Ralph Sr. and Eleanor (Jensen) Holmes.
Ralph proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He later worked for Edwards Supply Co. in Portland and Bell Simons Co. in Biddeford where he held managerial roles.
Ralph will always be remembered for his love of his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife- Margaret “Peigi” (Coldwell) Holmes; son- Jason Holmes and his wife Erika of Gorham; daughter- Dr. Jennie Emery and her husband Frank of Pittsboro, NC; brothers- James Holmes and his wife Diane, Don Holmes and his wife Marlene, and Andrew Holmes and his wife Maryleigh; and grandchildren- Olivia, Jadon, Mia, and Cameron.
A committal service with military honors for close family will be held on Friday Aug. 18 at 12 noon at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Stanley Road in Springvale.
