TEWKSBURY: Robert J. Golen, age 58, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away peacefully at Peregrine Landing, surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 10, 2017.
Born in Lowell on March 28, 1959, he was the son of Alice M. (Farrell) Golen, who survives him, of Tewksbury and the late Walter F. Golen.
Robert was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1978.
Prior to his illness, he spent his entire working career as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the metal recycling industry.
Rob never said no to overtime, helping others, or a free meal.
He spent countless hours camping, going to concerts, visiting friends, and putting many miles on his beloved Harley Davidson.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, William J. Golen and his girlfriend Andrea Runkel, of Hooksett, NH, and Adam W. Golen, of Hudson, NH; two grandchildren, Kiley E. and Allie M. Golen; siblings, Richard J. “Rick” Golen and his wife Vicki, Wayne P. Golen and his girlfriend Stacy Sarraf, and Meredith A. Lumb, all of Tewksbury, Robin J. Conley and her husband Len of Milford, NH, and Tracy M. Smith and her husband Paul, of Methuen; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 14, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery will be at a later date. Kindly Omit Flowers.
