CHARLTON: Shirley (Nelson) Livermore, 94, of Masonic Home Rd. and formerly of East Brookfield died peacefully Tuesday, August 8 in Overlook Masonic Health Center after an illness.
Her husband Donald S. Livermore died in 1998. She leaves two sons, Jeffrey S. Livermore and his wife Sue of Framingham and Peter A. Livermore and his wife Sandra of Punta Gorda, FL, a daughter Susan L. Siopes of Charlton, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Thomas Nelson, Jr., a son Joel Livermore and a daughter Gail Livermore.
Mrs. Livermore was born in Sharon, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Piguet) Nelson. She graduated from Sharon High School and received a BA from UMass Amherst. She was an Assistant Librarian for 15 years at the Richard Sugden Library in Spencer. She was a proud volunteer braille transcriber for the Perkins School for the Blind and the Library of Congress for 10 years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, August 23 at 11:00 AM in Evergreen Cemetery, East Brookfield. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers.
