Nora (Guimond) Higginbottom, age 92 of Methuen passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 7, 2017 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Nora was born in Methuen on November 26, 1924 to the late Frejus and Exilda (Belair) Guimond. Formerly, she worked in both the Pacific and Arlington Mills in Lawrence. Nora was a former communicant of St. Monica’s Parish of Methuen. She loved to knit and crochet gifts for her friends and family. Nora also enjoyed spending time, entertaining and traveling with her family.
Nora was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Higginbottom. She was the devoted mother of Helen O’Brien and her husband Daniel of Methuen and Samuel Higginbottom of Methuen. Nora was the loving grandmother of Heather Thomas and her husband David, Samuel Higginbottom, Christine Higginbottom, Nora Higginbottom, and Bernard Higginbottom. She was the cherished great grandmother of Olivia Thomas. Nora was the dear sister of the late Helen Torosian, the late Lorraine Kaelin, and the late Frejus Guimond. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 9:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish of Methuen. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen. In lieu of flowers, Nora’s special 8 year-old great-granddaughter has designed a website to raise funds that will be donated to the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Methuen.
