Obituary

Robert A. St. Pierre
Manchester– Atty. Robert A. St. Pierre, 87, died August 8, 2017 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Haverhill, MA on December 14, 1929 the son of Atty. Albert and Albina (Bourgeois) Lemieux.

He graduated from Assumption Preparatory School, Assumption College, and earned his law degree from Boston University Law, and held membership in the American Bar Association.

He was a partner of Lemieux & St. Pierre, Attorneys At Law in Manchester.
He was a proud Franco-American, spoke fluent French, and had a large base of French-speaking clients, especially on the west side of Manchester. He always had a deep regard for his fellow common man, and remembered the advice that his own father, also an attorney, had given him when he first started practicing law: “when you’re dealing with other people’s wallets, take it easy, especially with poor people”. He would often provide these same poor people with legal services at no charge, and made anonymous donations to poor families that he knew, via the church pastor.

He was a founding board member of Magdalen College, serving as legal counsel, secretary, and provided the first donation to the college.
He was a long time parishioner of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church and St. Joseph Cathedral.

He had many hobbies and interests, including playing shuffleboard, motorcycling, boating, photography, flying small aircraft, real estate education, wine tasting, hunting, singing, going and listening to operas, participating in musical shows, was an avid reader, and had a great palette for everything culinary, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially at the dinner table.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Pauline (Larouche) St. Pierre on March 14, 2017.

Family includes 2 sons, David St. Pierre and his wife, Kathryn, Daniel St. Pierre and his wife, Elizabeth, 5 daughters; Denise St. Pierre and her husband, Edouard Trepanier, Diane Davison and her husband, Robert, Doris Basquil and her husband, James, Dolores Whitely, Dorine Remillard and her husband, Mark, 22 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, one sister, Doris Milligan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
