MEREDITH—John Folsom, 17, loving son and brother, left this Earth on August 6, 2017.
Johnny was born in Laconia on March 11, 2000 to Sara and Greg Folsom. Johnny grew up in Meredith and attended Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith, NH. Johnny was born a helper and would genuinely give someone the shirt off his back. John faithfully attended his sister Terri’s sporting events, cheering her on and helping her teams. John always saw the good in people, even when they were at their lowest points in their lives. In a school project on his identity, John described himself as “hardworking, trustworthy, responsible, respectful, outgoing, happy, and loyal.” John expressed that what mattered most to him was “happiness, work, and family.” John was passionate about dirt bikes, music, his truck, his loyal dog Bella, relaxing with friends, and spending time with family. John dreamed of working in mechanics or engineering and of one day having his own family.
John is predeceased by his father Greg Folsom and his grandfather Ed Swain (“Poppy”), and is survived by his mother Sara, sister Terri, paternal grandmother Beverly Swain (“Nana”), maternal grandparents Shirley Clough and Earl Clough, family, and close friends. He was loved dearly and will be deeply missed. John’s goal every day was to be a better man. In honor of John, may we all strive to be better.
Calling hours will be held from 4pm-7pm on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street in Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7PM, also at the funeral home.
