After a long illness, Timothy Dwayne Owen, 53, passed away at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Monday, August 7, 2017, surrounded by his family. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017, at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton with Elder Steve Pearce and Elder Ronnie Webb officiating. Mr. Owen will be laid to rest at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Owen will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Doug Petty, Ray Cross, Walter Nelms, Brian Barbee, Mike Ross and Ray Ward will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 7, 1964 in Tullahoma, Tennessee, Mr. Owen was the son of Becky and Charles Cox of Thomasville and Bill and Susan Owen of Winchester, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his brother, Seth Owen. He was a sales representative in the construction business. He enjoyed being outside, fishing, grilling, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Angela and their two sons, Curt and Matt, all of Tifton; his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Lynn Owen of Dalton; his sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Ray Cross of Tifton; sister-in-law, Christie Venable of Dalton; brother-in-law, Brian Barbee of Tifton; sister-in-law, Linda Owen of Conyers; his mother-in-law, Sandra R. Barbee of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews.
