Mary T. Surran
Former Owner of MCF Industries

TEWKSBURY: Mary T. (Collins) Surran, age 90, a resident of Tewksbury for 65 years, formerly of South Boston, passed away at the Peregrine’s Landing Assisted Living on Saturday, August 5, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of Earl B. Surran, who passed away on April 21, 2001.

Born in Boston on August 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Collins and the late Mary (Lampro) Collins.

Mary was raised in the Dorchester area of Boston. She attended local schools and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1942.

Prior to her retirement, she and her late husband owned and operated MCF Industries in Lowell, MA.

Mary was a longtime communicant of St. Dorothy’s Parish in Wilmington.

She enjoyed country line dancing, and annual summer vacations to the Jersey Shore and Dennis, MA.

The Surran family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Peregrine’s Landing, Beacon Hospice and the Visiting Angels of North Reading for the care Mary received.

Mary is survived by her children, Kathleen Quinn and her husband James Lortsher, of Pittsfield, Betty Routhier and her husband Gerard, of Tewksbury, Robert E. Surran and his wife Margaret, of Canton, William J. Surran and his wife Kathleen, of Tewksbury; grandchildren, Patrick Quinn, Daniel Quinn, Maryellen LaCroix, Robert Surran, Jr., Brian Surran, Amy Talbot, William Surran, Jr., Denise Bergeson; her sister, Eileen Collins, of Weymouth; sisters-in-law, Ann Wolbert and husband Eugene, of Black Canyon City, AZ, Margaret Collins, of Upton, and Virginia Ronchetti, of Santa Clara, CA. She also leaves 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mary was the grandmother of the late Paul Calnan, and sister of the late Rev. Michael G. Collins, MM, Robert T. Collins, Joanne Sullivan, and Nancy MacDonald.

Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, Aug 12, at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545.
