Mrs. Catherine Bennett, beloved wife of the late Grady Bennett, entered into rest on Friday, August 4, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Humphreys officiating. A private family burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Bennett was a native of Blackshear, Ga., but had lived in the Augusta area since 1960. She, and her late husband, Grady, loved to shag and continued to do so until Grady’s death. She still loved to watch dancing and was a big fan of Dancing with the Stars. Shopping was another thing she loved to do, and would look until she found the perfect bargain.
She is survived by her daughters; Kathy Goode (Gene) and Susan Sumner (Barry), her son; David Bennett (Susan), a sister; Effie Mae Walker, her grandchildren; Hayley, Barrett, Courtney, Bethany and Madison, as well as two great grandchildren; Savannah and Kyndall.
