Nancy Grace (McMillan) Hurlin, 91, of North Andover, formerly of Andover, passed away on Saturday August 5 at the Meadows at Edgewood after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary H. (Taylor) McMillan.
She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on January 28, 1926 before moving eastward with her family to Sudbury and then Belleville, Ontario. After completing her secondary education at Havergal and Albert Colleges, she graduated from the Royal Victoria School of Nursing in Montreal, Quebec. She then moved south to work at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, she met and married her husband. They moved to Andover in 1958.
Mrs. Hurlin was a member of South Church and had served on the diaconate and other committees. She was an active member of the November Club and the Andover Village Garden Club. She was a volunteer at Lawrence General Hospital and the Christ Church Thrift Shop for many years. Perhaps her greatest joy was as a member of an informal swim group at the Andover YMCA.
The beloved wife of the late John C. Hurlin, she is survived by two sons, William J. and his wife Jane and son David of Princeton, New Jersey and James A. of London, England.
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 5 to 7 PM.
Her funeral service will be held at South Church, 41 Central Street, Andover, MA 01810 on Thursday , August 10, 2017, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. Donations may be made in Nancy's name to South Church. For additional information, please visit, www.burkemagliozzi.com
