Edna F. Ebbs 72, died October 1 at home after a period of failing health. She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Edna (Everton) Ebbs. Born in Boston, she graduated from Stetson High School, Randolph, class of 1951. After high school, Edna worked as a clerk at Dunn and Bradstreet. She then served in the US Navy for 20 years and retired in 1973 as a Chief Yeoman. After retiring from the Navy, Ms. Ebbs and her close friend Barbara Griffin became business partners in a ceramics company. She had been a resident of Stoughton for 69 years.
She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Hembrough of Brockton, Ethel Taranto and Mary Hayward of Franklin and Laura Ebbs of Taunton. She was also the sister of the late Robert, Clarence, Vernon, William, John, James and Patricia Ebbs. Ms. Ebbs is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, October 5 at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Donations in Edna’s name may be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA
