CHARLTON- Walter B. Lundquist, 74, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at his home with family at his side. His wife of 45 years, Tamara (Skarbow) Lundquist, died in 2012.
He leaves 6 children, Joseph W. Lundquist and his wife Karen, Michael S. Lundquist and his wife Kristin, and Nicole M. Petrunia and her fiancé James Chouinard, all of Charlton, Paul M. Lundquist and his wife Kim of Dudley, Shawn D. Lundquist and his partner Amanda of Southbridge, and David J. Lundquist and his partner Tanya of Webster; 16 grandchildren, Eric, Christopher, William, Alexandra, Patrick, Joshua, Samantha, Cody, Taylor, Samantha, Jacob, Alicia, Devin, Kyle, Jarrod and Toby; a great-granddaughter Sophia; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Lundquist, and by a grandson, Bryce Petrunia.
He was born in Hartford and raised in Shrewsbury, the son of Berger W. and Beatrice Laura (Simmons) Lundquist. He then lived in Worcester before moving to Charlton in 1985. He attended Saint John Preparatory School in Shrewsbury.
Mr. Lundquist worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight in Shrewsbury for many years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Worcester Teamsters Local 170. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 11 in West Ridge Cemetery, Main Street Charlton, with the Reverend Jonathan Slavinskas officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 10, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street,Webster.
