CHICOPEE - Eileen May (Bunting) Lebel, 91, of the Doverbrook Estates in the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, July 24, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Methuen, Massachusetts on January 31, 1926, the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Robishaw) Lebel. She was raised in Methuen and graduated from Searles High School in Methuen. She moved to the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee in 1961 where she lived until moving to Doverbrook Estates in 2003. She was employed as a printer at Smith and Wesson in Springfield. A member of the Moose Family Center in Chicopee, she enjoyed spending time there with friends playing bingo and their monthly dinners. She also enjoyed visiting Foxwoods Casino. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Raymond R. Lebel who was Called Home on August 8, 2007. They were married on May 3, 1947 at Saint Ann Church in Methuen and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving sons, Raymond R. "Rick" Lebel of New Britain, CT and Brian J. Lebel and his wife, Melissa, of Santa Fe, NM; her three cherished grandchildren, Melissa Lebel of New Britain, CT, Jeremy Lebel of West Haven, CT and Tara Legler and her husband, Shane, of Powell, NY; her five cherished great-grandchildren, Talyn, Lorien, Ellanyn, Ian and Rynn Legler; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Lebel and Bunting families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Fred Bunting. Her Funeral and Burial will be private at the convenience of her family with interment at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts. There are no visiting hours.
