Keith James Drolet, 67, of Lawrence, passed away at home on July 31, 2017.
Keith was born on April 11, 1950 to his hardworking parents, Alfred and Pauline (Gosselin) Drolet in Lawrence, MA. He attended school at Greater Lowell Vocational Tech, graduating with the Class of 1968, where he was the very first valedictorian to graduate from there. Keith worked as a sheet metal mechanic out of the local union hall. Always a man who was very mechanically inclined, he was a self-taught engineer. Keith’s skill at metal welding was highly prized and was personally selected to weld for NASA, in particular for John Glenn. He was a very sociable man, who was very humorous and a very generous outlook on life. Keith was the type of man with no hesitation would give you the shirt off of his back. He touched many lives and will truly be missed.
Keith is survived by devoted brothers; Jerome P. Drolet and his wife Martha Ciardello of Derry, NH, and his twin brother, Kenneth Drolet and his wife Isabelle of Salem, NH. He was also the proud uncle to his nieces and nephews; Dawn Marie, Kenneth Jr, Scott, Jeremy and Carrie Ann. Keith is also survived by his uncle George Drolet. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Sherrie L. Drolet.
Visitation for Keith will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be held during calling hours at 6:00 pm at funeral home.
