Doris Gladys Wilson Casey, 82, of Ty Ty passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rodney Owens and the Rev. Justin Devereaux officiating. Mrs. Casey will be laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, August 4, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Casey’s nephews, George Davis, Ricky Burdette, Ray Beasley, Steve Bates, Chet Howell and Buck Varnadore will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 18, 1934 in Tift County, Mrs. Casey was the daughter of the late Hobert Wilson and Hattie Yates Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harold Casey; two sisters, Emogene Burdette and Laverna Willis; and five brothers, Emerson Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Raymond Wilson, Wallace Wilson and Donald Wilson. She was a caregiver and enjoyed cooking, fishing and loved to care for others.
Mrs. Casey is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna and Travis Lassiter and Denise Webb, all of Ty Ty; one grandson, Wesley Lassiter; one granddaughter, Tiffany Webb; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia Beasley of Tifton, Mary and Billy Williams of Moultrie and Caroline Bates of Sasser; four sisters-in-law, Dot Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson and Jennifer Wilson, all of Tifton and Hazel Wilson of Norman Park.
