WEST BOYLSTON-Clarence M. Milstead, 88, died Saturday, October 1 in UMASS Memorial Healthcare after an illness. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Frances (Goyer) Milstead, two sons, Joel W. Milstead and his wife Carolyn of Princeton and John E. Milstead of Leicester, daughter-in-law, Bonnie Milstead of Leicester, four grandchildren, Laurie Whitman and her husband Larry, Sharon Hill and her husband Tom, Stefanie and Andrew Milstead, a great grandson, Larry Joel Whitman, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Earl Milstead and a sister, Ruth Kisor.
Clarence was born in Lancaster, Ohio, son of Cecil and Lillian (Mills) Milstead. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the pacific area. He worked at the West Boylston Municipal Lighting Plant for many years, retiring in 1979.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 4, at 11:00 AM in FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, W. Boylston. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 –11:00 the morning of the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester Street, W. Boylston, MA 01583.
