Claire D. Brassard, 84, of Manchester, died July 31, 2017 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Manchester on February 12, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Doria (Jutras) Pinard.
Claire was a graduate of St. Marie High School in Manchester NH. She worked in a variety of positions in her younger years, spending many years as a waitress with Martin Caterers and also babysitting in her home for over 40 years. She babysat all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren until Alzheimer’s Disease no longer made that possible. Her family was her world. Everything took a backseat to spending time with and helping each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Claire was the Matriarch and has left a legacy of love in her path. Claire’s strong faith has undoubtedly ended her journey here on earth and has led her to praising her Savior on streets of gold
Above all, she will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, mentor and friend.
Claire is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 62 years, Paul Brassard. She is predeceased by her daughter, Marie and son, Paul. Her surviving children include Jean Brassard and his wife Elaine of Bow NH, Mike Brassard and his wife Rosie of Goffstown NH, Norm Brassard and his wife Louise of Strafford NH and Sue Johnson and her husband Pete of Bedford NH. Claire has 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Family members include her sister Suzanne Biron of Manchester and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings Simone LeBel of Manchester, Armand Pinard of Manchester, Conrad Pinard of Manchester, Cecile Pinard (Baby) of Manchester, Robert Pinard of Manchester, Sr. Suzanne Marie (Florese) Pinard of Manchester, Marcelle Audet of Manchester, Irene Clougherty of Manchester, Lillian Gosselin of Manchester, Rene Pinard of Manchester, Cecile Pinard of Manchester and Pauline Gruber of Manchester.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, August 7th at 10:30 AM at First Assembly of God, 45 Myles Dr., Auburn, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Claire's name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at www.alzfdn.org.
