WEST KENNEBUNK- Brian Flaherty, 63 of West Kennebunk, Maine, formerly of Winsted, Connecticut passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 28, 2017. A graduate of Gilbert High in Winsted, he was on the diving and football teams. His adventures included; driving across America, Woodstock, touring Europe by train, and a 6 month sail throughout the Caribbean. Brian worked at The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport for 23 years. Brian was beloved by his family and so many friends from near and far and will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of horseshoes, hunting, fishing, dancing, and especially music from the 60’s and 70’s.
Brian is survived by his wife Mary, mother Jean, sons Shayne and Reilly, grandson Ronan, brothers Mike (wife Jen), Sean (wife Michelle), and sister Kathy Carfiro (husband Bob), and his beloved dog Sammy. He is predeceased by his father Joseph, and brother Jeff.
There will be a celebration of Brian’s life on August 25th at the Knights of Columbus, 122 Marshall St, Winsted, CT 5-9pm. Please come to remember Brian the way he would have wanted us to, and share stories about the life he lived. Hawaiian shirts encouraged.
