Dawne L. (Welch) Bedford, age 54, of Attleboro, passed away in the comfort, of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was the beloved wife of James A. Bedford.
Born in Waterbury, CT on February 15, 1963, she was a loving daughter of the late Thomas Welch and Louise (Owen) Ancher.
Dawne grew up in Providence and Norton, and was educated in Norton public schools. She was a graduate of Massasoit Community College, receiving an Associates Degree in Accounting.
She had worked as an accountant tutor at Massasoit Community College and also as an office manager for N.E.S. in Attleboro.
Dawne and Jim had spent over thirty wonderful years together. She had made her home in Attleboro for the past twenty years and was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Attleboro.
Dawne’s focal point and number one priority in life was her family. She loved them unconditionally, and received so much pleasure and joy from her treasured grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and trips to area beaches.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her loving and devoted children Jennifer Lazarus, Krystal Kelly, Allan Leach, James Bedford, Christine Bedford, Denise Bedford and Michelle Grenon. She was the dear sister of Kenneth Welch, David Welch, William Welch, Ronald Welch, Robert Welch, Lawrence Welch, Thomas Welch, James Welch and the late Radford Welch. She is also survived by her cherished 21 grandchildren, as well as many adoring nieces and nephews and her best friend “Sparx”
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at North Purchase Cemetery in Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Dawne’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02134.
