Jeffery Scott Smith, 57, of Tifton passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Smith at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Clinton Fields will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Family members will be among those serving as pallbearers.
Born October 20, 1959 in Newnan, Mr. Smith was the son of Annie Mae Copeland Smith of Tifton and the late Melvin Raymond Smith. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Paul Smith. He was self-employed in construction; loved to fish and hunt; and was a loving and caring person.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Smith is survived by one son, Justin Scott Smith of Tifton; two daughters, Tina Anne Smith of Newnan and Nichole Rena Massey of Manchester; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Brian and Lisa Smith and Michael Anthony Smith, all of Tifton, Monty Smith of Poulan and Art Spears of Ty Ty; and three grandchildren, Braxton Gregg Smith, Kendra Mae Smith and Kinsley Ann Massey.
