Obituary

Mrs. Muriel L. “Frenchie” (Banville) Martin, of Pawtucket, R.I. and formerly of Taunton, entered into rest Sunday, July 30 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard I. Martin. She was born 86 years ago in Swansea, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Levesque) Banville. She was educated in Fall River and had been a Taunton resident for many years before moving to Pawtucket 4 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a shipping clerk for Princess House, Inc., No. Dighton for 15 years. She was previously employed at Texas Instruments, Attleboro for several years. Frenchie enjoyed traveling with her late husband in their camper, making crafts, visiting Foxwoods, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

She leaves: 1 son: Russell Martin and his wife, Donna of East Taunton; 2 daughters: Lorraine LaMothe and her husband Roland of Taunton, and Sandra Charis and her husband, Thomas of Pawtucket; 6 grandchildren: Richard LaMothe and his wife, Christine, Lisa Melo and her husband, Brian, Tara Kantelis and her husband, Neil, Dennis Bedard and his wife, Liz, Nicole Testa and her husband, Marc, and Michelle Porter and her husband, Kris; 7 great grandchildren: Kory, Kiehl, Kaylee, Colin, Corinne, Evan and Noel, and several nieces and nephews. Muriel was also the mother of the late Richard Dennis and Dennis Joseph Martin.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Thursday, August 3 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, E.Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the Service, Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
