Richard A. White
Retired Austin Company Project Manager

LITCHFIELD, NH: Richard A. “Rich” “Gus” White, age 83, a resident of Litchfield, NH for the past 12 years, formerly of Ravenna, OH, Wilmington, MA, and Mukilteo, WA, passed away at home, in the care of his family and hospice on Friday, July 28, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Mary “Jean” (Mackle) White with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on April 4th.

Born in Kent, OH on May 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Walter and Myrtle (Roswell) White.

Rich was raised in Kent, OH, attended Kent schools and graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 25 years by the Austin Company in Cleveland, OH, where he worked as a Construction Project Manager. Two of his major projects included the building additions to the Boeing plant in Everett WA for the assembly of the 767 and 777 aircrafts. In addition, he was a former special deputy for the Portage County, Ohio Police Department.
He was very involved in Little League, and the Immaculate Conception Church and School when his children were young. Rich and Jean where avid square dancers for over 25 years in WA and MA.

While living in Litchfield, he was a member of St. Francis Church and active in the Stage Crossing over 55 Community where he resided.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Natalie J. White, of Tewksbury, MA, Richard A. White, Jr. and his wife Barbara, of Baton Rouge, LA, Michael A. White and his wife Judy, of Cincinnati, OH, and Timothy A. White and his wife Christine, of Tewksbury, MA ; nine grandchildren, Ian, Megan & Jillian MacKinnon, Ricky and wife Allyson, Jennifer, Joshua, Hayley, Emma, and Sam; one sister, Donna Quessenberry and her husband Tom, of Rootstown OH.
Rich was the brother of the late Jean Tuttle of Ravenna OH.

Memorial calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, MA. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. for his Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452. A Memorial Mass will be offered at a later date at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 9 St. Francis Way, Litchfield, NH.
