Edmund C. Hughes, age 80, of Natick, formerly of Wellesley, died on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Eliot Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Natick.
He was born and grew up in Wellesley, the son of the late Patrick & Sarah (Noone) Hughes. He graduated from Wellesley High School, Class of 1956. Edmund was a veteran in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years, serving as an Electrician's Mate (Telephone). For many years, he worked as a Master Electrician for IBEW LOCAL 103.
Edmund was the loving brother of Robert P. Hughes of Sutton, Francis M. Hughes of Natick, Richard J. Hughes of Medway, Rosemary Hall of Natick and the late Joseph E. Hughes, John J. Hughes, David P. Hughes and Sarah Poisson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to his visiting hours at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at NATICK COMMON, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Funeral services at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, at NATICK COMMON, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at 9:00 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick's Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00 AM.
Interment with military honors will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Pond Street, Natick.
