Jeannette M. (Barry) Noonan, 79, of Manchester, NH died September 29, 2005 at the Concord Regional Visiting Nursing Association Hospice House.
Born on May 6, 1926 in Brookline, MA, she was the daughter of Walter J. and Gertrude (French) Barry. She was educated in the Massachusetts school system.
Prior to her marriage to David G. Noonan, Sr. on April 18, 1953, she had been employed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the First National Bank of Boston. After marriage she moved to the Manchester area to raise her family.
She was active in the Swift Water Girl Scout Council, having served as girl-scout leader for many years. She was a talented artist who enjoyed watercolor as well as oil painting. For many years, Mrs. Noonan had been a member of the “Sewing Club” with many of her closest friends. She loved Scottish and Contra dancing and spending time at the Scottish Highland Games. Above all, she loved spending summers with her family at Rye Beach. Her husband of 38 years, David G. Noonan, pre-deceased her in 1991. She was also pre-deceased by a brother, Walter J. Barry, Jr. and a sister, Claire Morrissey.
Members of her family include 2 sons, David G. Noonan, Jr. and Peter A. Noonan, both of Manchester; 2 daughters, Johanna Noonan Morin of New Boston and Jeannie Noonan Normandin of Manchester; 6 grandchildren; a brother, John Barry of La Grande, Oregon.
The funeral service was Monday October 3, 2005 in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
