Robert I. Pierce, Sr., 86, of Lakeville passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Morton Hospital in Taunton after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lillian F. (Augustine) Pierce, they were married for 67 years.
Born in Dartmouth, he was son of the late Alden T. Pierce, Sr. and the late Marie A. "Emelda" (Martel) Pierce. Prior to moving to Lakeville 30 years ago, he had lived in New Bedford and also wintered in Fanning Springs, FL. He was a tractor trailer driver for many years until his retirement. Mr. Pierce was a hard worker who loved spending time with his family.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Robert I. Pierce, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Acushnet and Wayne C. Pierce of Portsmouth; a daughter: Carole L. Green of Lakeville; a sister: Hazel Arruda of Fall River; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Kenneth A. Pierce, Dale K. Pierce, Nancy A. Pierce and Beverly Beaudry Pierce and brother of the late Alden T. Pierce, Jr.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 - 11:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Burial will be private.
