Aldo F. Vendetti 85, of Franklin, died peacefully, Friday July 21, 2017 at the Medway Country Manor, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Alice L. (Thibedeau) Vendetti, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.
Born August 24, 1931, in Franklin, a son of the late Angelo and Concetta (Mucciarone) Vendetti, he was a life long Franklin resident.
Aldo was raised and educated in Franklin and until his retirement several years ago worked as a mechanic for Dean College. He was also the former owner of Franklin Lincoln Mercury on Union Street.
A proud American, he served his county during the Korean War in the United States Coast Guard, serving aboard the CGC CASCO a weather and supply ship, he attained the rank of EN1 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in April 1956.
Aldo enjoyed golfing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Franklin Rod & Gun Club and the Franklin Lodge of Elks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Alan F. Vendetti and Michael P. Vendetti both of Franklin and 2 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Anthony Vendetti, Joseph L. Vendetti, Sr. and Edmund Vendetti, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday July 25th, at 12Noon in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Interment with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin will be held at a later date.
Calling hours are Monday from 4-7PM at the funeral home.
