Edward J. Turowsky Jr.
... Navy Veteran, of Tewksbury; 65
TEWKSBURY - Edward J. Turowsky Jr., age 65, a resident of Tewksbury for fifty years, died
Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Jewish Memorial Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Cambridge, October 17, 1939, a son of the late Edward and Anne (Navikas)
Turowsky. He was raised in Cambridge, and moved to Tewksbury in 1955. Most recently, he
lived in the Carnation Drive elderly community in Tewksbury.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a security officer for several area companies, and also served the medical staff at Tewksbury Hospital.
Mr. Turowsky was a devout Catholic, who received his Catholic Confirmation at St. Peter’s
Basilica in Rome in 1959. He was a communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury.
He was also a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge, 2047.
He is survived by one brother, Joseph Turowsky of New Mexico; a nephew, Edward A.
Turowsky also of N.M.; and many dear friends throughout the Tewksbury community.
A graveside Service was held, Monday, Oct. 3, in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St.,
Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
