Catherine V. Zanden passed away on July 16. She was born in Waltham, and raised in Waltham and Wayland. She attended Waltham and Wayland schools.
Catherine lived most of her life in Framingham, where she enjoyed socializing with her neighbors at the Rose Kennedy Apartments, the John Brady Apartments and the Callahan Center. She enjoyed summertime Concerts on the Common in Framingham Center, and many trips throughout New England with the Framingham Seniors. She had the “Luck of the Irish” at Bingo at the John Brady Senior Club in Framingham. She enjoyed her winters with family and friends in The Villages, Florida. Catherine was a long-time employee at JM Fields in Natick and Bradlees at Shoppers World in Framingham.
She was the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Creedon) Zanden who predeceased her. Her sister Claire Gale also predeceased her. She leaves behind her niece Patti Austin of Worcester, her nephew Don Gale of The Villages, Florida, her brother-in-law Don Gale of Worcester, a great-niece Erika Austin of Worcester and great-nephew Alex Austin of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of New England, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
