Worcester – Joseph Stapleton Jr., 63, of Worcester died on Thursday September 29, in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.
Mr. Stapleton is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Anna F. (Cousin) Stapleton of Worcester; his three children Joseph Stapleton III and his wife Gail of Worcester, Joan M. Stairs and her husband Brad of Millbury, and Jane F. Kobel and her husband Brian of Spencer; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a sister Joanne F. Lemieux.
Mr. Stapleton was born in Worcester son of Joseph Stapleton Sr. and Florence M. (Belk) Stapleton. He graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College as well as attending Worcester State College.
Mr. Stapleton worked as a machinist for many years before retiring. He was an automotive enthusiast as well volunteering his time for many years at the Auburn Family Youth and Family Services and the Salvation Army.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday October 2 in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. from 5 to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday October 3 in Notre Dame Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
