Judith Lane Hammond, 75, a longtime resident of Camden, South Carolina passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Kershaw Health Karesh Center in Camden, South Carolina. A graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. Hammond at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
Born October 30, 1941 in Tifton, Ms. Hammond was the daughter of the late Eddie Lane and Bernice Brownlee Lane. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Edwina McMath and Geraldine Herlovich. She attended Tift County High School and later moved to Umatilla, Florida, with her former husband, Jack Hammond. She was employed for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper. She relocated to Camden, South Carolina later in life to welcome her first grandchild. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing games, crossword puzzles, and going to the movies.
Ms. Hammond is survived by her brother, Leroy Lane of Tifton; her children and their spouses, Paige Hammond Wilson and husband, Paul Wilson of Camden, South Carolina, Angela Hammond Kopp of Mt. Dora, Florida and Jennifer Lane Smith and husband, Matt of Bentonville, Arkansas; and her grandchildren, James Wilson, Madison Wilson, Morgan Wilson, Gabrielle Hammond, Isabelle Kopp, Cole Smith and Griffin Smith.
