Richard Tyrone Gomes, 50, of Fall River passed away suddenly on Sunday July 16, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of James and Patricia Florence (Dooley) Gomes, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life and had lived in Fall River for the past five years.
Richard was formerly employed as a relief manager for Shaw's Supermarkets, where he worked for 33 years.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High school where he played football, basketball and baseball. He loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his parents; his companion, Stacey Santos of Fall River; his siblings, Kevin Gomes of Fall River, James Gomes and his wife Pat of New Bedford, David Gomes and his wife Lisa of Berkley, and Kimberly Aubin and her husband Jay of Dartmouth; his nieces and nephews, Ryan Gomes, Alexander, Benjamin, and Caeleigh Aubin, Brandon and Blair Gomes, Jamie-Lyn, Courtney, Ronald, and Darcyle Robinson; his great-nephew, Dave Harrison; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral will be held on Friday at 10 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11 AM.
