Herbert Jr. and his wife Denise of Waltham and James Herbert and his wife Brenda of Rutland, MA. and step-father of Leonard Greenlaw of Winthrop. Adored grandfather of Charles III and Violet Herbert, Angela Ciraso and Harrison, Jessica, Amanda and James Jr. Herbert. Great-grandfather of Charles Herbert IV and Dillon Herbert. Dear brother of Irene M. Cash and her husband Thomas of Winthrop and the late Robert Hess, Virginia DeStefano, Eunice Soper, John Hess, Isabelle Flintoff, Nancy Brennan, Peter Hess, James Hess and Daniel Herbert. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Fri, July 21, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Cremation after Mass will be private. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thurs, from 4-8pm. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1955-59. He was a life member and Past Commodore of the Winthrop Yacht Club, member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078, American Legion-Winthrop Post #146, VFW-Beachmont Post #6712, AMVETS-Winthrop Post #48 and the Commodores Club of America.
