Carolyn Mary Duffy, 76, of Largo, FL passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Mount Sinai West-59th Hospital in New York City, NY while on vacation. Carolyn was born May 26, 1941 in Lowell, MA and was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Dolores (Poirier) Cote. She was raised and educated in Westford, MA and was a graduate of Westford Academy. Carolyn resided in Chelmsford and Lowell, MA, prior to relocating to Largo, FL, where she has resided for the past 35 years.
Carolyn was a homemaker and raised three children. She also worked for 10 years at the Pellon Division of Freudenberg, USA. Carolyn was a cruising enthusiast, but loved to travel in all ways, often visiting family and friends around the country as a way of staying in touch. She was always ready for an adventure. Her email address was “on d’ road” and was known to never say “no” to follow the next excursion.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Shelley A. Richardson and husband Clay of Meredith, NH, Jodi M. Dussault and husband Jerry of Manchester, NH and Brian D. Pierce and wife Denise of Largo, Fl., four step children, “The Duffy Clan” Denise, David, Diana, and Donna; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaleigh, Jacquelyn (husband Wesley Cotnoir), Jennah, Heidi, Colin, Duggan, Danielle, Drew, Scott, and Dayle; three great grandchildren, fiancée, John R. Kramer, of Largo, FL, her brother, Paul “Gary” Cote and wife Martha of The Villages, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her two husbands, Harold J. Pierce Jr. and David J. Duffy and one grandson, Jeremy Hecht.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 2 – 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with a memorial service at 4:00pm. Carolyn will be laid to rest in August at the Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo, Florida.
