Grainger G. “Kitchy” Hebshie age 67 of Brockton passed away Sunday July 16, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a 13 year battle with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). He was the husband of Michele (Mastroianni) Hebshie.
Grainger was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late George and Margaret (Williams) Hebshie and remained a lifelong resident of the city. For the past few years, Grainger had been a resident of BayPointe Skilled Care in Brockton. A 1969 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School, Grainger was a printer by trade. He had been a supervisor at Lorell Press in Avon and Foremost Printers in Stoughton.
Grainger loved woodworking and had a shop in his home where he enjoyed making furniture. He also enjoyed cars, fishing, taking trips to the casinos and spending time with his wife. He had a large collection of autographed photos of television and movie stars.
A kind and compassionate man, Grainger would help anyone in need. In the last few months he started a campaign to educate the public about the dangers of smoking and COPD.
Grainger was the father of Kerri-Ann Hebshie of Brockton and grandfather of Mishelle and Benjamin. He also leaves his sister Kathleen Lucchetti and her husband Paul of Marshfield and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 4-8pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9am for a Service of the Devine Liturgy at St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, Brockton at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
