Georgia Mae Huckaby, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, July 13, 2017, at her granddaughter’s residence in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, July 15, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer and Billy Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Huckaby was born February 4, 1924, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late George & Sarah Moore Rhoden. She moved to the community in 1958. She worked for H. R. Kaminsky & Sons and she also owned Huckaby Daycare. Mrs. Huckaby loved children and she was known as “BeBe”. Mrs. Huckaby was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by the children: Ruth & Tony Fyke of Kentucky, Judy & Robert Paul of Fitzgerald and Larry & June Huckaby of Dry Branch; ten grandchildren: Kathy & Pedro Young, Rodney & Jodi Paul, Danny & Melissa Paul, Gary & Pam Barnes, Brenda & Ron Spade, Becky & Denton Bagley, Ronnie & Kay Huckaby, Dianna Mobley, Geni Huckaby Strong and Michael Larry Huckaby. Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive. Also, a caregiver, Kaylea Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edgar Huckaby; three brothers; two sisters, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
