Simonne L. Blunt of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 10, 2017. Simonne was born in Paris, France, where she met the love of her life, Rodney, while he was stationed in Germany in the Air Force. After living in France for a brief period of time, they moved to Allston, MA in 1962 with their three children. From there, they purchased a farm house in Derry, New Hampshire. Simonne loved working on the farm gardening, cooking and baking, sewing, and spending time with her family. Cooking and baking was one of her passions. She could create recipes from scratch that her family and friends all considered gourmet. She was a talented oil painter. She loved painting landscapes, the ocean, and animals. She loved watching wild birds on her bird feeders. Her favorites were the Hummingbirds and Cardinals. She enjoyed taking rides with Rodney and the family to the beach and the mountains. She was the manager of the shoe department at Ames Department Store for more than 15 years. She was dedicated to her work and took pride in keeping her shoe department very tidy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney, their three children, Lora Cilcius and her husband Al, of Auburn, NH, Daniel Blunt and his wife, Kari, of Londonderry, NH, and her daughter, Vivianne Bausha, and her husband Steve, of Bedford, NH. Her grandchildren and their significant others, Jessica Tridenti and her husband Patrick, of Newmarket, NH, Kaitlyn Tripp and her husband, Ian, of Goffstown, NH, and Dylan Cilcius, and his girlfriend, Brittany, of Auburn, NH. Her great grandchildren, Bruce Hidden, III, Madison May Milone, Savannah Rose Tridenti, and Jake Anthony Tridenti. In addition to her loving family in the United States, she is also survived by her loving family in France, which includes her sisters, Claudie, and her husband Robert, Mimi, and Colette. Her niece, Patricia Fabre, and her husband Alain, and their three children, Caroline Pires, and her husband Phillippe, Julien Fabre, and his wife, Eva, and Estelle Fabre and her boyfriend, Valentin, and many more great nieces and nephews. Simonne was loved very much by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, July 18th between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
