Obituary

WAYLAND: Edward Stevens, died peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017 with his wife and brother at his side. He suffered multiple injuries when he was struck by a motor vehicle in Framingham on June 11, 2017.
He was the son of the late Edward and Alice Stevens of Larchmont, NY. Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pheme Perkins of Wayland and his brother William Stevens of Asbury Park, NJ as well as several nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Mary Ann Stevens, Alice Stevens and Agnes Stevens.
Before his retirement, Mr. Stevens was a professor of religious studies and professional ethics at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and then at Regis College in Weston. He was also the author of several books on religion and ethics: Oriental Mysticism (1973), The Religion Game, American Style (1974), The Morals Game (1974), Business Ethics (1979), Making Moral Decisions (1981), Spiritual Technologies (1990) and Developing Moral Imagination (1997).
After retiring, Mr. Stevens was an active volunteer in the Pastoral Visitors program at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main Street (Rte. 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Perkins family lot in Newton Cemetery, Newton.
