TAUNTON – Margaret (Faria) Furtado, age 91 of Taunton and formerly of Somerset, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017. She was the wife of the late John C. Furtado and the daughter of the late Manuel B. & Guilhermina (Costa) Faria. Prior to retiring, Margaret worked for Stella Ann Frocks as a Trimmer & Inspector. She was a parishioner of St. John of God Church in Somerset and a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
She is survived by her son, John C. “Jack” Furtado Jr. and his wife Robin of Taunton; her sister, Alexandrina Viveiros of Rehoboth; her grandsons, John R. Furtado (wife Cassandra) of E. Taunton & Joshua Furtado (wife Christine) of Somerset; great grandchildren, John R. Furtado Jr., Austin J. Furtado, & Chace Peter Furtado; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph B., Manuel B., & John B. Faria, Mary F. Mello, Mary Connie Pacheco, & Silvina Terceira.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Somerset at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
