Metivier of Brockton, June 4, 2002, Alfred L. Metivier, 84 years. Husband of the late Agnes T. (Callahan) Metivier. Father of Mary “Bunny” Metivier and Walter Metivier both of Brockton; Patricia DeYoung of Randolph and Katherine Metivier and her son Michael Metivier of Brockton.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 6-8 pm. Donations in Al’s memory may be made to the Charity of one’s Choice.
Mr. Metivier died unexpectedly Tuesday after being stricken ill at his home. Born in Boston, son of the late Walter and Catherine (Murphy) Metivier. Raised in the Roxbury and Dorchester area.
Veteran of WW II Served in the US Army in the European Theater. At the age of 79 he retired from the Brockton VA Medical Center after 30 years, following his retirement he volunteered at the VA Medical Center and received a pin for putting in 1750 hours.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle and puthering in his garden and yard.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Mary “Bunny” Metivier of Brockton, Patricia DeYoung of Randolph and Katherine Metivier of BrocktonA Son, Walter Metivier of Brockton 6 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildrenA Sister Dorothy Moore of Deltona, Florida Many nieces and nephews He was the husband of the late Agnes T.
