Angelina (Medeiros) Queiroz Castelo, 90, of New Bedford died Thursday July 6, 2017 at Sacred Heart Home after a long battle with diabetes. She was the wife of Henrique Ferreira Castelo and the late Jose deAlmeida Queiroz.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Manuel and Rosalina (Tavares) Medeiros, she lived in New Bedford since 1960.
Angelina worked as a stitcher for numerous area factories until her retirement.
She was known for her sense of humor, her loving nature, and her strong personality. She will be remembered for her talented hands, whether it was for sewing, crocheting, or knitting. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. Her laughter, her beautiful voice, and her loving touch and wisdom will all be sorely missed.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at 2 Center at Sacred Heart Home for the loving care given to Angelina during her illness.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Maria Gabriela Queiroz, and her beloved grandson, Joseph David Queiroz. She also leaves her sister, Maria Eduarda Farias, and numerous nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Portugal.
She was the sister of the late Domingos and Dionisia Medeiros.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday July 10, 2017 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
