“Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul on another.”
Early Friday morning, the world lost an amazing woman of grace, elegance, and beauty and we lost an irreplaceable wife, mother, and grandmother.
Audrey Lopiano died peacefully at home with her beloved husband of 62 ½ years, Dr. Michael Lopiano, and her dedicated, loving caretaker Marie by her side.
Audrey moved as a young girl from the Midwest to Pasadena, Ca. She was studying to become an elementary school teacher at UCLA, when a chance encounter on a trip back east led her to meet the man that would change the course of her life. Now a wife and mother, she became a homemaker and began raising her four children. Being an army doctor’s wife, she set up house in Washington D.C., Texas, Hawaii, and New York before ultimately returning to her cherished California, all the while creating with each move a warm and nurturing environment for her thriving family.
Many things defined Audrey, unquestionably smart, she was an avid reader, appreciated art, a lover of animals and enjoyed classic Hollywood films of the 40’s and 50’s but most importantly, shopping. She truly was a shopping queen!
Of all these things, her family was her greatest pride and joy. She took great pleasure in sharing her experience, support and wisdom with her children and then grandchildren, always with a soft spoken gentleness. Her family truly was the jewel in her crown.
She laughed easily and loved deeply, always with her quiet grace, elegance and serenity.
We will continue to honor her by living our lives by the example she set, with truth, dignity, kindness, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her beloved children, son Michael Lopiano J.D. and daughter Dr. Marissa Lopiano Teyssen.
She is survived by her husband Michael Lopiano, son Dr. Mark Lopiano and his wife Marie Lopiano, daughter Catherine Lopiano Ouahada and her husband Tarek Ouahada. Grandchildren Andrea Lopiano Lamont and her husband Justin Lamont, Nicholas Lopiano, Sarah Teyssen, Alexandra Lopiano, Matthew Lopiano, Johannes Teyssen, Leah Teysson, Max Teyssen and great grandson Clark Lamont as well as other much loved extended family members.
Special thanks are given to the many caregivers who helped her throughout her illness, in particular: Marie, Andrea, Rachel, and Clemence.
