Jamie C. Gager, 45, died on August 19, 2016 in Concord, California. He was survived by his wife, Melanie (Overcashier) Gager. She died only two weeks after his death.
Jamie was born on November 6, 1971 in New London, the son of Arthur R. and Lynny Jo K. Gager of Groton and the grandson of James P. Keaveny and the late Katherine A. Keaveny.
Jamie grew up in the area, and most of his school years were in Groton, graduating from Fitch Senior High School in 1989. He immediately joined the U.S. Air Force and served for two years.
After his separation from the service, he remained in the San Francisco Bay area, working for a few years in electronics until he discovered his life’s work as a sheet metal worker specializing in the construction of large buildings. He remained in the construction trade until his death.
One of Jamie’s loves in his life was guitars. At the time of his death he had 23 guitars, one of which he made and left to his grandfather.
In addition to his parents and his beloved grandfather, Jamie is survived by his brother Casey Gager.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be conducted on Friday, July 14, at 11:00am in Elm Grove Cemetery, Route 27, Mystic, Reverend Shawn Fisher officiating. The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic is assisting the family.
