Urbano A. "Tony" Barros, 80, of Westport died Wednesday, July 5, 2017 surrounded by his family at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of Madeleine E. "Mitzi" Barros, they were married for 54 years.
Born in Bristol, RI, son of the late Urbano F. and Maria A. (Abreu) Barros, he had lived in Westport for 50 years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Prior to retirement, he was a self employed carpenter. Mr. Barros was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. He will always be remembered as a good man, husband, father and grandfather.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: David G. Barros of Dartmouth and Michael S. Barros and his wife Traci of Little Compton; a daughter: Ann Marie C. Correia and her husband Emanuel of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Ashley, Chelsey and her husband Andrew, Nicole and Aimee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, July11, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 AM.
Calling hours Monday 5 - 8 PM.
Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
