WORCESTER— Ero J. Osterlund, 85, of 5 Huron Ave. died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, in The Lutheran Home.
Ero leaves his wife of 39 years, Irene (Puro) Osterlund; a sister, Elma Osterlund of the Lutheran Home; and several cousins in Finland and Washington State.
He was born in Worcester, son of Niilo and Sopia (Wionpaa) Osterlund. He was a graduate of Worcester Vocational and the Univ. of Kentucky. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was a mapmaker in France and England. He was a pattern maker and carpenter and worked for Rice Barton and Quinsigamond Community College before his retirement. Ero was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Greendale Men's Club, and Topographical Engineers.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (Sept. 28th) at 10:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 41 Whitmarsh Avenue. Burial will be in all Faiths Cemetery. There are no Calling Hours. Contribtuions in lieu of flowers may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Activity Fund of The Lutheran Home, 26 Harvard Street, Worcester 01609.
Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. is directing arrangements.
