Mrs. Lorraine (Croteau) Behrens, 92, of Derry, NH, died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Bedford Hills Nursing Care of Bedford, New Hampshire.
Lorraine was born on April 19, 1925 in Malden, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late, William S. and Mildred (MacArthur) Croteau. Lorraine was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Max S. Behrens in 1968. She was also predeceased by her sister, Thelma Johnson, brothers William (Frank) Croteau, Robert Croteau, Richard Croteau and Charles Croteau.
Lorraine was raised and educated in Malden and lived in the area prior to moving to Derry in 1972.
Lorraine was employed for 18 years as a licensing clerk for American Mutual Insurance Companies in Wakefield, Massachusetts. She was a proud member of the Gold Star Wives Association.
Lorraine was a passionate New York Yankees fan and also enjoyed watching tennis, figure skating and gymnastics. She was an avid bowler well into her 80's and was a member of several leagues in Windham and Londonderry, NH.
Lorraine is survived by her two daughters, Susan L. Webster, of Londonderry, Diane L. Behrens, of Manchester and her son, Gary B. Behrens and wife Gigi of Londonderry. She also leaves six grandchildren, Michelle Doucette and her husband Arthur, Jr. of Manchester, William Noble of Manchester, Amy Gilcreast and her husband Matthew of Hudson, Philip Behrens and his wife Rachel of Londonderry, Karen McCarthy and her husband Barry of Manchester and Dennis Behrens also of Manchester
Lorraine also leaves great grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Jordan, Jennifer, Kimberly, Nicholas, Alexis, Alexys Ann, Matthew, Jr and William, great-great grand daughters Waverley and Wakeley and many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours were held on Friday July 7, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH with a funeral ceremony that followed at 7 pm. Graveside services were Monday July 10th at 10:30 am in Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest Street, Malden, MA.
