Acushnet – Richard L. Lackie, 83, of Acushnet, formerly of New Bedford, passed away at home on July 2, 2017. He was the widower of Glenice E. (Baylies) Lackie.
Mr. Lackie was born in New Bedford, son of the late Thomas and Olive (Davis) Lackie, and was the last survivor of ten siblings. He resided in the greater New Bedford area all of his life and was a communicant of The First Church of the Nazarene. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Korea. He loved antiquing and cooking.
Survivors include his son: David C. Lackie and his wife, Marion of PA; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Laurusevage, Heather Lackie and David C. Lackie, Jr., all of PA; 2 great-grandchildren: Blake and Anthony Lackie, both of PA; his nephew: Paul Lackie, Jr. of Acushnet; and numerous other nieces & nephews. He was grandfather of the late Jason Lackie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 7, 2017, 4:00-6:30 P.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford followed immediately by funeral services at 6:30 P.M. Burial will be private.
