Juanita Pitts Gray, 66, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, Alex Hill. Mrs. Gray will be laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
David Hill, Alex Hill, Ryan McCranie, Tim Hill, Chuck Hill and Albert “Doodle” Hill, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 27, 1950 in Ashburn (Turner County), Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late David Luke Pitts and Marcel Pate Hasty. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lealand Thomas. Before retiring, she was a waitress at the Waffle House and of the Baptist faith. She loved working in the yards and she loved her grandbabies, who were her pride and joy.
Mrs. Gray is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Becky Hill of Lenox; Dewayne’s father, Henry Lamar Hill; three grandchildren and their spouses, David and Kim Hill, Alex and Hannah Hill and Emilea and Ryan McCranie; and five great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Hill, Kolten Hill, Kaiden Hill, Bentley Hill and Braylen Hill.
