Josephine A. Savarino passed away peacefully at the Arnold House of Stoneham, She was 92. Born in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Ann (Martello) Capizzi. A Medford resident for most of her life, Josephine attended Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston. She enjoyed a long career with the Fiduciary Trust Co. of Boston where she worked as a probate accountant, until her retirement. An active woman who was devoted to her family, Josephine was a long-time member of the former Santa Maria Lodge of the Sons of Italy in Medford.
The beloved wife of the late Louis J. Savarino, she was a devoted sister of Marianne Carino and her husband Richard of Medford. She was a loving aunt to Chrisanne Webb of Melrose and Marianne Smith and her husband Philip of Melrose. She was the dear great-aunt to Tyler, Sophia and Julia Webb and Zoe and Sadie Smith Josephine also leaves many dear nieces and nephews of the Savarino family.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, July 7th at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, 4 - 7 PM.
