Betty Catherine “Grandma” Collum Roberts, 81, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Ridge Avenue Church of Christ in Tifton with the Rev. Murray Hand and Minister Larry Stewart officiating. Mrs. Roberts will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, July 7, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Roberts will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Jaxen Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Harllee Swanson, Daniel Roberts, Lee Roberts, Larry Stone, Wayne Stone and Cameron Powers will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 1, 1936 in Ozark, Alabama, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Dallas Vernon Collum and Ora Iveen Wilson Collum. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Harllee Roberts; and two brothers, George Likely and Dean Gore. Before retiring, she was the restaurant manager at the Holiday Inn in Tifton. She was a member of Ridge Avenue Church of Christ in Tifton and loved her church family. She loved her dogs and she loved to make people laugh.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mickey and June Roberts and Rickey and Sara Roberts, all of Tifton and Mike and Melanie Roberts of Ty Ty; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Roberts and Allen Fuhrman of Tifton; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
