Thomas F. Lavin, Jr. of Middleboro died on Sunday, July 2, at Morton Hospital Medical Center of Taunton. Raised and educated in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Doris (Loveys) Lavin. Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, after which he settled in Medford and worked as a Printer.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Rose Marie "Bella" (Monaco) Lavin, and the devoted father of Karen Utterback and her husband Bill of Medford, Judie DelSignore and her husband Dan of Canton. He was the loving grandfather of Christopher Maggiore and his wife Maya, Kaitlyn Utterback, all of Medford, Thomas, Kyle and Anthony DelSignore of Canton, and the late Marc Marino. Thomas was the loving great grandfather of Michael Marino, Carmen Maggiore, and the late Giovanni "Gio" Maggiore, and brother of Nancy Ray of Cambridge, and the late Ruth, Carol and Bill. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8, in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, from 9 through 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
